The New Zealand China Business Council (NZCBC) promotes and facilitates business and trade relationships between New Zealand and China.
About NZCBC
The New Zealand China Business Council (NZCBC) was established in 2003 to play a crucial role in strengthening economic ties between New Zealand and China and is now restructuring in 2023 to revive in the changing market with borders open again. New Zealand and China have a long relationship going back to the 1840s when the first Chinese immigrant to New Zealand arrived and the first large scale arrival of Chinese to New Zealand occurred in the 1860s, initially for goldmining. The New Zealand–China Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed in 2008 provided much impetus to the trading relationship. China is now New Zealand’s largest trade partner, accounting for nearly 30 percent of New Zealand’s total exports of goods and services NZCBC is a platform for businesses, government agencies and individuals interested in engaging with both nations as a liaison to provide information, networking opportunities and resources to support bilateral trade and investment. As an independent organisation, the Council has a diverse sector of businesses in trade, tourism, education, health, f &b, agriculture, geology, finance and culture involved in New Zealand-China bilateral trade.

Comprehensive services: Chinese visas, business meetings, trade shows (China International Import Expo), conferences with China Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand and destination management services throughout China.
– Facilitate business connections by organizing conferences and networking opportunities to connect individuals and companies from New Zealand and China. These people to people exchanges are to share knowledge, foster relationships and explore business opportunities.
– A source for information with the latest developments and trends in the New Zealand and China business landscape with reports and research to assist businesses in understanding the cultural, legal and economic aspects of conducting business in both countries.
– Provides guidance and assistance to companies looking to enter or expand their presence in New Zealand or China with market insights, business matchmaking services and access to local networks to facilitate market entry.
